Dr. Strange Movie Review

dr strange

I avoided seeing Dr. Strange in theaters because I was a little tired of superhero origin stories because they are pretty much all the same. Plus this one looked a little too odd and just not very interesting to me. But thanks to Redbox, I gave it a shot now. And it turns out this superhero origin story is… pretty much the same as all the other superhero origin stories.

Doctor Strange is the story of how Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) gets his powers during his recovery from a crippling accident. Did you know if you text and drive you could end up with magical powers? Me either.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Movie Review

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie so completely average. Not good, not terrible. Just exists. Kind of like this blog.

Jack Reacher Never Go Back is the sequel to the underrated Jack Reacher. This time Reacher must work to unravel a conspiracy and save a fellow solider from being framed. Or something like that. It’s kind of hard to follow to be honest.

The Conjuring Movie Review

With the imminent release of the sequel, I have decided to review one of my favorite horror movies of all time.

No one is allowed to play Hide and Clap around me. Ever.

The Dark Knight Movie Review

the dark knight

Here’s part 3 of my preparation for Batman v. Superman (part 1:Top 5 Batman and Superman movies, part 2: Man of Steel Review). How anyone could dislike this movie is beyond me.  It’s by far the best superhero movie ever made and I’ll argue it is one of the best movies in general ever made.

The Dark Knight is the second installment of the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy.  It follows the titular character’s (Christian Bale) fight against the evil Joker (Heath Ledger).

Man of Steel Movie Review

man of steel

With therelease of Batman v. Superman imminent, I’m looking at the first installment in this series, cinematic universe thing.  It also happens to be the only Superman movie I like at all. Some spoilers ahead, consider yourself warned.

Man of Steel is, in essence, an origin story for Superman.  It shows how he came to earth and how he learns to use his powers, mostly through flashbacks.  He then has to use his powers to stop the evil General Zod from turning Earth into Krypton. If you are still reading after my spoiler warning, it probably means you have seen the movie and know the plot already, so I won’t go into it anymore.

Birdman DVD Review

This review was supposed to come out in honor of the Oscar nominations being released last week.  However, I haven’t had much time until now so it’s a little late.  But here I am with my review for last year’s Best Picture winner that I hadn’t seen until last week.

Birdman is about an actor struggling to stay in the spotlight (Michael Keaton) after playing a superhero earlier in his career.  As a last ditch effort, he decides to direct and star in a Broadway play, hiring a hot shot actor (Edward Norton) in the process.
